Vote for us in the Santa Barbara Independent’s Downtown Sound competition

We don’t really see music as a competition. There are a lot of artists making amazing sounds in all sorts of ways, and we’re happy to experience all of it and collaborate with people and and build a community and all of that jazz. That said, we also like free recording time and gear (to help us make more music!), so we’ve entered a competition.

Click the photo above or visit independent.com/downtownsound to vote for us in the Santa Barbara Independent’s Downtown Sound competition for 2013. The prizes include recording time at Playback Studios, a slot at this year’s New Noise Music Festival & Conference, a feature in the upcoming Santa Barbara Music Issue of the Independent, instruments, gear, apparel, gift certificates, a professional photo shoot, and marketing materials.

The site does require you to register to vote, but we did and we haven’t ever received a single email from them, save the confirmation. So don’t worry, your inbox won’t explode.

You might be asking, “aren’t you guys from LA?” You’d be half right. We formed in LA, and Craig lives in Venice, but Nick is working on his PhD at UCSB and lives full time in Santa Barbara. We commute quite a bit for practice and concerts and such. Tale of two cities. Plus we’re playing the Mercury Lounge for $5 on September 27. Come say hi, Santa Barbara.
